Welcome to the U11C Division

This weekend will be the evaluation sessions for the U11C Pool. The evaluations are so that each player’s abilities can be reviewed in a scrimmage setting and that balanced teams can be created to allow for some fun, healthy competition amongst the teams. Player groupings as well as ice times for the evaluations are located in the preseason document section below.

Evaluation Details

Details about the evaluations:

  • Players will be assigned pinnies for the evaluations, which must be returned at the end of their final skate
  • Evaluations will be scrimmage games with no goalies (shooter tutors will be placed on the nets)
  • Sessions will be three periods of running time with 2 minute intermissions between periods
  • Evaluations will have a referee

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers will be needed for on the bench (open/closing the gates for the kids on shift changes and helping get them on/off the ice for shift changes), time clock (running time sessions), HCSPDressing Room monitors and one on-ice helper to assist with keeping the flow going for the referee (taking pucks out of Shooter Tutors, nets, etc.).

Please sign up for volunteering positions as soon as possible, you can do so by clicking the link here. Coaches will not be able to assist with benches/on-ice for these sessions as they will be evaluating the players.

Equipment Checks

All equipment checks are now complete, but please remember that the gold safety check tag  must remain on the players helmet until they are assigned to a team and have shown up to their first team practice.

Power Skating:

There will be one powerskating/development ice time per week for all U11C players. Groups will be made based on skating levels so the providers can tailor each session to improve on a specific set of skills based on ability.  Ice times and groups will be shared on Sunday evening.

Covid Rules:

  • Currently both Planet Ice & Poirier are allowing spectators in the rinks (this could change).
  • For all ice times, the kids will only be allowed to enter 15 minutes prior to their given ice time.
  • Spectators are only allowed into the rink 5 minutes before the scheduled ice time.
  • Masks are mandatory within all indoor settings regardless of whether an individual is vaccinated or not.
  • Coaches are also required to wear masks on the ice.

Of course, things can change quite quickly in the current environment. Please keep checking the website as this is where I will post all information as soon as it’s available.

If you have any questions at all, please send me an email.

See you at the rink!
