Dear Coaches, Players and Hockey Parents:
We are now at the most exciting time of year – the playoffs! Good luck to your team! As a friendly reminder, sportsmanship in our game, towards the opposition and especially the referees is an expectation of all participants at the games.
Our rules (Section H9) state the following:
Abuse of on-ice officials and other participants by spectators shall not be tolerated.
Should any spectator engage in unsportsmanlike behaviour, verbal abuse, taunts, slurs, etc. the Referee shall have the full authority to have such spectator removed from the arena. If necessary, the Referee shall suspend the game until the individual(s) involved are removed from the rink.
Please note that any spectators can be removed from the game, and if necessary, disciplinary action, including suspension from attending further games may be imposed.
