Midget Player volunteer call for C evaluation |
|
Attention Midget Players: Volunteers are needed to assist with the on ice drills as part of the Peewee and Bantam C Evaluations. The Volunteers will demonstrate and supervise the evaluation drills to help the coaches assess the players. Helmets complete with face protection, neck guards, gloves, stick and skates required. Volunteer hours for High School credits will be acknowledged. Schedule for these ice times are posted on web under the Divisions/Peewee and Divisions/Bantam.
If interested please contact Rob Hackett (rhackett@buk.ca) for Peewee and Brian Babcock (odysseydesigns@telus.net) for Bantam.

All Coquitlam Officials |

All CMHA Officials are required to attend a carding clinic. There will be a clinic in Coquitlam but is for 1st Year Officials only. ALL RETURNING LEVEL I AND II OFFICIALS MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE SUPER SATURDAY CLINICS. This information can be found on the BCAHA website. For information purposes only, there will be one in Coquitlam on Oct 23rd at Douglas College but I would encourage officials to attend an earlier clinic. I have the dates of these clinics and if you need them please email me for the information. |

Exciting times for the Express |
|
Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jon Calvano, is pleased to have found his bench backup in Coquitlam’s own Mark Goble.
Mark Goble has spent many years coaching at a very high level from Alberta Midget AAA to the BCHL with Cowichan Valley, Powell River, Royal City and the Burnaby Bulldogs of the BCHL. This past season he was the Coach Coordinator of the Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge of the game and his experience in the league will be a great asset for the Express program. |

PCAHA Meritorious Service Award Recipients |

CMHA Congratulates Sinikka and Wayne King on their PCAHA Meritorious Service Award!
“ A Husband and Wife team, they have volunteered as League Managers for the past 9 seasons, giving back to hockey long after their sons graduated from Juvenile in Coquitlam Minor Hockey. She does stats, suspensions, tournament and exhibition game numbers and works with the Assigning Centre. He does all the computer work, scheduling and league standings. They willingly mentor new League Managers with schedules, email notices and anything asked of them. They are a great resource for the Managing Director.
The Coaches and Managers have expressed how great they are to work with, prompt at getting back to them with answers to their questions and dealing with any problems that occurred.
They have earned the respect of everyone in Fraser Valley North, from Coaches, Member Association Executives, the Referee Assigning Centre and the Officials.”

We are reorganizing the website to make it easier for you to navigate and find the information you are looking for.
One of the first modifications is to group the divisions page on the DIVISION page and the Rep divisions information into the REP INFORMATION page. We also grouped the Chiefs graphics and merchandise into one page.

Please ensure all jerseys all properly cleaned and dried prior to returning or
placing inside garment bags. We had some cases of mold this year from damp
jerseys in storage. This is very costly to the Association. |

IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE MAJOR MIDGET LEAGUE |
|
Major Midget League Player Eligibility
BC Hockey announced Wednesday, May 5 that the Executive Committee has approved a change to player eligibility of the Major Midget League (MML) for the 2010-11 season.
BC Hockey has removed the policy limiting the number of 17 year old players a Major Midget League team can have on their roster. The change was made to allow all players aged 15-17 the opportunity to play in the League. The move was supported by the majority of the teams within the League and the Managing Director of the MML.
The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group. Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.

Don't forget that Passports Required |

All Canadians must have a passport to travel to the USA.
If your son/daughter will be playing "REP" Hockey, CMHA advises you to make sure you have all your passports in order.
Seattle Sno-King, Seattle Admirals and Whatcom County will again be a part of the P.C.A.H.A. "REP" Teams might be tiered along with these clubs and have to travel over the border.
So please ensure your child is Passport Ready. |
