Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association: Arena Renewal - Parking

Arena Renowal - Parking Update

With the opening of the new rinks and ongoing construction at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, there are more vehicles in the area and an increased demand for parking. We want you to become familiar with the available parking while visiting and at the same time draw attention to some important etiquette that will keep everyone safe and happy.

  •  Please be aware there are two entrances to the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex parking area:
    1. South of Chimo Pool off Poirier Street
    2. Via the Library entrance parking lot– this lot is directly connected to the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex lot and in fact acts as one lot.
  • Please drive slowly and be aware of pedestrians in the parking lot as they enter and exit the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex. There are many children and elderly patrons who use the facility and who may take longer to get to and from their vehicles.
  • Please do not block the Fire Access Lane adjacent to the temporary main spectator/user entrance or the Emergency vehicle Access Gate at the south east area of the parking lot off Laurentian Street. It is very important that these areas remain open in case of an emergency.
  • When parking on residential streets, be respectful of residents and their driveways. Please keep noise to a minimum and do not litter.
  • We encourage patrons to not use Sargents Court and Laurentian Street as the drop-off point for players.
  • Park only in clearly identified parking areas and stalls and do not double-park.
  • Increase your car-pooling efforts when possible.

The City will be adopting a zero tolerance approach with parking bylaw enforcement - you may get ticketed or towed. There is still plenty of parking available within a short walking distance to Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex and we ask that patrons use the other parking areas listed below as overflow:

  • People’s Courts parking lot –entrance off Foster Avenue.
  • Facilities Division parking lot located on the west side of Poirier Street.
  • Dogwood and centennial Pavilions parking lot–entrance off Winslow Avenue.
  • Centennial High School parking lot.
