Applications for Major Midget League team official positions are now available on the BC Hockey website. We are asking all BC Hockey registered Minor Hockey Associations to notify any individuals within their associations who have the qualifications and may be interested in a volunteer team official position with a zone team to complete the application form and submit it to BC Hockey by April 15, 2011.
Note: All returning team officials must complete an application form in order to be considered for a position.
Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I wanted to take the time to say publicly a large “THANK YOU” to our team manager. Jake McRae took the time in the evenings and weekends each week (outside of our H2 sessions)to keep the parents informed of how the coquitlam hockey 2 works. He took courses in his own time and shared the information with us. He made it seem simple but really, I know it was a challenge sometimes, even the most fun volunteering comes with it’s own learning curve. He was our Manager, a fundraiser organizer, game organizer with other hockey association, scorekeeper, timekeeper, treasurer, year end wind-up and tournament organizer for our team and around all of that… he always had words to encourage and cheer on our little hockey stars

Veit Goaltending is currently offering all Coquitlam Minor Hockey goaltenders a FREE TRIAL 45 minute session at their training center located in New Westminster.
This is a great opportunity for goalies to experience Veit Goaltending’s advanced training. Sessions at their synthetic ice training center are an extremely in-depth training that simply cannot be matched. By allowing the instructor to focus on specific deficiencies within each goalie’s game, the students see immediate impacts the next time they step on the ice with their teams.
In future sessions, if requested, 15 minutes of the student’s hour can be devoted to discussion and assessment of the goalies improvement strategies with the instructor and parents.
This is a value of: $79.99 + HST ( single session 1 hr)
For more information visit their website; www.veitgoaltending.com
Their training center is located at; 825 McBride New Westminster.
Parents or coaches can call Taylor Dakers at 604-533-9625 or email veitgoaltending@shaw.ca to book their time in the center.

KidSport Tri-Cities is holding their much anticipated Annual Spring Used Sporting Goods Sale:
Sunday, March 13th from 10am until 2pm
Port Coquitlam Rec Centre
2150 Wilson Avenue.
To make this event a huge success KidSport needs equipment! Families are encouraged to donate and drop off their used sporting goods of any kind from Feb 26th to March 12th at the following locations:
Port Coquitlam Rec Centre
Port Moody Rec Centre
Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex
Cyclone Taylor Sports – 562J Clarke Road
Corner Sports – 2276 Elgin Ave. Poco
If you have used equipment taking up space in your garage or basement, this is a great opportunity to free up some space, donate the equipment (including bikes) and make a great contribution to our community. Please remember to also come by the sale for some amazing deals – Blow-out prices after 1:00pm.
This event will only be a success if we have a good selection of equipment, and we need the community’s help to ensure we have that equipment.
Since 2006, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and donors, KidSport Tri-Cities has helped over 1000 youth to participate in organized sport including more than 400 in 2010 alone. Our bi-annual used sporting goods sales are very important for us – putting quality used equipment in the hands of families and raising much needed funds to subsidize sport registration fees for families in need.
